Selected by the Nashville Predators in the second round of the 2006 entry draft, Blake Geoffrion played 42 games over two seasons as a member of the Predators. Geoffrion was acquired by the Canadiens as part of a trade that sent defenseman Hal Gill to Nashville.

Geoffrion played his first game in a Canadiens uniform on February 28, 2012 against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

The grandson of Bernard “Boom-Boom” Geoffrion and great-grandson of Howie Morenz, scored his first goal with the Habs on March 10, 2012 versus the Canucks.
