Tomas Kaberle was a acquired by the Canadiens on December 9, 2011 in a trade that sent defenseman Jaroslav Spacek to the Carolina Hurricanes.

Kaberle logged a two-point night in his first game as a Hab, posting a pair of assists in a 2-1 win over the New Jersey Devils. 

After playing 11 seasons as a member of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Kaberle was was traded to the Boston Bruins with whom he won the Stanley Cup in 2010-11.
