MONTREAL - Here's a numerical look at the Habs-Sabres game at the Bell Centre on Tuesday night.
1 – Max Pacioretty came into Tuesday’s game against the Sabres with 99 career regular season goals. The two-time 30-goal scorer will need only one more to crack triple digits.
2 – Daniel Briere faces off against his former team with 298 career goals to his credit.
12 – Games missed in four NHL seasons as a Hab by Lars Eller. The 24 year-old sat out Monday’s win against Boston due to a lower-body injury but returned to the fold on Tuesday night.
161 – While Matt Hackett, the Sabres’ starting goaltender, played at the Bell Centre for the first time, his uncle Jeff is a familiar face for Habs fans. The elder Hackett made 161 appearances in net for Montreal between 1998 and 2003.
7:30 – In the first period, Jarred Tinordi led his team in ice time for the first occasion this season. The rookie defenseman skated alongside P.K. Subban and was used more often than any other player in the building.
3 – Hits for Ryan White, who was back in the line-up after being a healthy scratch against Boston. Forming a new-look fourth line with Lars Eller and Michael Bournival, the gritty forward also added two shots on net.
2 – Only two Habs skaters had not tested Matt Hackett through two periods of play. With Montreal out-shooting Buffalo by six though 40 minutes, only David Desharnais and Lars Eller had yet to attempt a shot on net.
800 – Montreal's game-breaker was also the 800th goal the Canadiens have scored versus the Sabres since Buffalo broke into the NHL in 1970.
8 – Daniel Briere’s eighth goal against his former team, scored on the powerplay late in the third period, was also his first against Buffalo as a member of the Canadiens. The centerman also finished the night with a nine-two lead in the faceoff circle.
5 - Number of shutouts for Carey Price in the 2013-14 season. The Habs netminder helped his team weather the storm before getting some much-needed goal support in the last half of the third period.
