BUFFALO - Here's a numerical look at the Canadiens-Sabres game at the First Niagara Center on Sunday night.

2 – Starts this season for Dustin Tokarski for Montreal, including Sunday’s game against Buffalo.

598 – Games played by Thomas Vanek with the Sabres between 2005 and 2013. The Austrian winger made his first return to the First Niagara Center in Buffao since the team traded him in October 2013.

841 – Number of career penalty minutes for Brandon Prust. Turning 30 on Sunday, the rugged forward leads the Habs with 119 PIM this season.

60 – Career games played by Andrei Markov against the Sabres. Since 1990, only Patrice Brisebois (62GP) has faced Buffalo more often as a member of the Habs. By suiting up on Sunday, Markov moves ahead of Saku Koivu (59 GP vs. Buffalo).

10 – Dale Weise scored his first goal as a Habs in his tenth game. During the first period of Sunday’s game, he opened the scoring by completing a play started by David Desharnais and Alex Galchenyuk.

35 – By scoring late in the first period against the Sabres, Brendan Gallagher became the 35th skater in the history of the Canadiens to post at least 17 goals in his sophomore season with the team. Michael Ryder and Chris Higgins were the last to surpass the plateau back in 2005-06.

3:19 – Length of P.K. Subban’s second shift in the second period. The Habs’ defenseman was on the ice for the length of a Buffalo penalty, and then held the fort for an additional 1:19 at even strength due to an icing call against his team.
