Game Preview: Canadiens - Lightning

The Canadiens will try to put an end to their current losing streak on Thursday night when they play host to the Tampa Bay Lightning at the Bell Centre.

On Wednesday, the Habs dropped a third consecutive game, falling 6-4 to the Penguins in Pittsburgh. Brian Gionta, Alex Galchenyuk, Gabriel Dumont and Andrei Markov scored for the Canadiens.

The Lightning, meanwhile, will try to pick up their first win in five games. Tampa Bay has only registered two wins in their last nine games. In their last outing on Tuesday in Winnipeg, Jon Cooper’s squad lost 4-3 in a shootout to the Jets.

The Canadiens will try to complete a regular season sweep of the Lightning on Thursday night. During their last meeting, Michel Therrien’s squad picked up a 4-3 win on March 9 in Tampa Bay.



-Alex Galchenyuk has recorded five goals and eight points in his last eight games.

- After missing Wednesday's game in Pittsburgh, Michael Ryder will return to action against the Lightning.

- Brandon Prust won't be in the lineup against Tampa, missing his second game of the week. Colby Armstrong could return to action.

- Carey Price will get the start against the Lightning.

- The Canadiens sent defenseman Nathan Beaulieu back to the Hamilton Bulldogs on Thursday morning.


- With 53 points each, Steven Stamkos and Martin St-Louis are just three points back of Sidney Crosby, who continues to sit atop the NHL in that category.

- Ben Bishop will get the start in goal for the Lightning tonight. He has a 2-3-1 record since being acquired from the Senators on April 3.
