Game preview: Canadiens @ Capitals

Thursday, 24.01.2013 / 12:30 PM

The Canadiens are in Washington to play their first road game of the season on Thursday.

Michel Therrien’s troops will look to pick up where they left off on Tuesday when they sent the Panthers back to Florida with a 4-1 loss. Therrien has confirmed his lineup from Tuesday’s game will remain intact against Washington. The Capitals are still searching for their first win of the season, having lost both games so far since Adam Oates made his move behind the Caps bench.

The Habs will attempt to pick up their first win in the US capital since Feb. 2011, which was also the last time the Canadiens came away with a win against the Capitals.

Canadiens' game notes:

* Tomas Plekanec was the Canadiens’ leading scorer against Washington last year, registering one goal and one assist.

* Lars Eller and Yannick Weber will be healthy scratches on Thursday night.

* Carey Price will get his third-straight start on Thursday.

Capitals' game notes:

* Michal Neuvirth will get his first start of the season on Thursday night.

* Mike Ribeiro will look to stretch his point streak to three games.

* Brooks Laich won’t be in the lineup for the Capitals due to a groin injury.
