- All the players were on the ice for Thursday morning’s practice at the Bell Sports Complex, before leaving for two back-to-back games in Pittsburgh and Toronto.   
   
- Head coach Randy Cunneyworth didn’t confirm which goaltender would be between the pipes for Friday’s tilt against the Penguins. He also mentioned that goaltending coach Pierre Groulx would be accompanying the team to Pittsburgh and the decision should be made by Thursday night.
   
- A lot of time was spent working on power play drill as practice, with the coach trying combinations of Subban-Kaberle-Desharnais-Cole-Pacioretty and another made up of Campoli-Weber-Gomez-Plekanec-Bourque, with Bourque alternating with Kostitsyn at times.
   
- Peter Budaj brought out his old mask for Thursday morning practice.
