Raleigh - December 30, 2013
On extended road trips like this one, it’s important to take some time away from the rink to enjoy some natural beauty in each city we visit along the way. Raleigh’s JC Raulston Arboretum at NC State University is a great place to do just that, even in the heart of winter in the Tar Heel State.
Featuring over 5,000 different kinds of plants and a multitude of plant collections that are among the most comprehensive in the world, this local attraction is the perfect place to spend some downtime and relax.
We couldn’t help but cringe, however, when we noticed that the Capitol City Lumber Company was located directly across the road from a facility that is focused squarely on promoting conservation.
