- The Canadiens skated in Brossard on Wednesday morning ahead of their afternoon departure on a two-game road trip that will see them go up against Buffalo on Thursday and Toronto on Saturday.

- Head coach Michel Therrien re-organized his lines ahead of Thursday night's tilt in Buffalo, running practice with the same lines with which he finished Tuesday night's game against the Washington Capitals at the Bell Centre.

- Goaltender Peter Budaj will make his eighth start of the season on Thursday night in Buffalo. Therrien indicated that it was a perfect opportunity in which to start Budaj on the road. It was also a chance to provide Carey Price with some rest after making 32 starts on the year.

- On Wednesday, Budaj signed a two-year contract extension with the Canadiens.
