- The Canadiens skated in Brossard on Wednesday morning ahead of their afternoon departure for Long Island. The Habs will square off with the New York Islanders on Thursday night at Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, NY.

- After practicing alongside his teammates with a "no contact" jersey on Tuesday morning, Rene Bourque was sporting a standard, white jersey during Wednesday morning's practice session. Bourque has missed the last 12 games with a concussion. He will accompany the team on their trip to Long Island, and will be re-evaluated on Friday.

- Defenseman Francis Bouillon has signed a one-year contract extension with the Canadiens.
