After a tough stretch, having been blanked in their last three consecutive outings, the Bulldogs got themselves back in the winners’ column with a 3-1 victory over the Rockford IceHogs.
It was Patrick Holland who ultimately snapped the ‘Dogs 200:29 scoreless drought, tipping home a shot from Gabriel Dumont for his fourth goal of the season. After assisting on Holland’s goal to tie the game 1-1, Dumont gave Hamilton the lead in the second frame, lighting the lamp with a power play marker. Olivier Fortier would extend his team’s lead in the third with his first goal in 11 games.
Robert Mayer enjoyed a strong performance between the pipes for Hamilton, turning aside 35 of 36 shots sent his way during three periods of action.
