After sending Peter Delmas off to join the ECHL’s Wheeling Nailers and releasing center Darryl Boyce from his 25-game professional tryout contract with the team, the Bulldogs hit the ice to take on the Icehogs in Rockford. The teams traded chances at both ends until Mike Blunden found the back of the net at the midway mark of the second period for his second goal of the night, giving Hamilton a two-goal lead. Despite lighting the lamp one more time, the Icehogs were unable to complete the comeback and Gabriel Dumont officially put the game out of reach with an empty net marker to close out the tilt. In addition to Blunden, Michaël Bournival and Brendan Gallagher also both enjoyed two-point outings.
