Beginning on September 1, 2011, we will announce one Social Media Fan of the Day everyday on Twitter via @canadiensMTL, the official Twitter account of the Montreal Canadiens. The winner will receive a $10 gift certificate to any Habs Zone location and we’ll post his or her profile on canadiens.com. Oh, and don’t forget to tell your friends – it’s in your best interests!

How do you show your passion for the Canadiens through social media?

With my 37 Canadiens shirts and jerseys, I can actually wear a different piece of Canadiens gear for each day of the month if I want to. I’ve also managed to collect 77 Centennial loonies as well as a bunch of rally towels from the playoffs. I also love collecting autographs or equipment that was used by the players like gloves or practice jerseys. I try to attend the majority of events held by the players. I then take pictures of it all and post it all over my social media site to show off to others.

Being the father of the most devoted Habs family in Minnesota, I've been able to connect with other fans through Twitter and Facebook that I would not otherwise meet. I've made some fantastic friends through Twitter and FB Habs fans networks. We proudly fly a Canadiens banner in my home in South Minneapolis and my son, wife (Amanda), and I got to meet PK Subban, Lars Eller, and Aaron Palushaj out of pure random chance last year when the Montreal Canadiens played the Minnesota Wild. You can find me every game on twitter with my fellow "Tweeps" chatting away about the game and showing our Canadien Pride! You can read more about how I became a Canadiens fan here:

I post all my pictures of the Habs on Facebook so everyone can see just how proud I am to be born and raised in Montreal and a loyal Habs fan. I have been living in Ontario for the last 6 years only because of my career otherwise I would be back in Montreal.

How do you show your passion for the Canadiens through social media?

I'd failed to really take it in properly but then I went to the Bell Centre for my first game in January 7, 2010. It was against the Florida Panthers - the Habs won 2-0. And I even met Youppi, what a lovely guy he is.

I was literally stunned by the electrical energy pulsing through my body - I knew it was destiny, I felt part of the team within seconds and the incredible atmosphere in the arena had the hairs of my neck standing up. There was this feeling of excitement and passion coursing through my veins. I knew then I would be a Habs for life and I am. It felt I'd been in the dark and now I'd seen the light - I truly felt connected from that moment and relish calling myself part of this organisation.

But back in Glasgow, social media is my lifeline to The Habs. I do get the games on my cable sports channels but there is no coverage of ice hockey in the UK. So before and during most games, I go on the official Habs facebook page and post my thoughts, I try to make them inspirational. One great one was when I used a quote from Shakespeare's MacBeth to make my point. Seeing the replies and interacting with other fans is superb, you feel you're all connected by this amazing team no matter where you come from, what you look like or what you do in life.

I also tweet about the games and team - as all my contacts/friends are UK based, so they don't know about ice hockey, so I use social media to spread the word and introduce them to the greatest sports team on the planet. I also cheekily message my favourite player PK Subban on Twitter too, but I've yet to get a reply from the great man!

Les Glorieux have changed my life and nothing beats the feeling of seeing the big C and knowing you're part of it. I will forever be in debt to the city and people of Montreal for doing that.

I have followed the Montreal Canadiens for several years now, and I can never get enough - it's a problem! I get an adrenaline rush whenever I watch their games and I will always support them, win or lose. I proudly boast all of my Habs attire which includes several t-shirts, a gorgeous vintage jersey I received for my 18th birthday, and my Cammalleri jersey (hoping for a Price jersey this Christmas/my birthday!). My room is decked out in Habs posters, pictures, newspaper clippings, figurines, pucks, towels, scarves, notebooks, mugs, trinkets (and the list goes on...). I follow the team through the Canadiens website, Canadiens app, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, as well as various blogging sites. I am truly proud to say that I am a Montreal Canadiens fan. GO HABS GO!

I’m a huge fan of the Montreal Canadiens and I make sure to let it be known everywhere I drive my truck when I’m in the States. He’s a picture of my rig that I posted for other fans to see on Facebook.

I stay connected with anything to do with the CH the best I can all the way from France. It’s not the easiest thing to watch a game live because of the time difference, but I’ll still wake up in the middle of the night to get in as many matches as I can. I use the team’s Facebook and Twitter accounts to help stay up to date. I actually got the chance to see a game live at the Bell Centre back in 1997 and I remember it like it was yesterday. We lost to the Penguins despite a great breakaway goal by Recchi. The crowd got up to cheer for the goal like they were a unified entity – I still have goosebumps from the experience.

I sport my “war paint” every time I go to a game and make sure the pictures get put up on my Facebook page!
I was suck a crazy fan, banging on the glass and supporting our team… I got a stick & puck over the glass, used in the warm-up!

Even when I go to Ottawa to see the Habs play, I sport the paint!!
The fans & the players love it!

Go HABS Go

I love the Habs. I drive around in my "Habmobil" proudly. Me and my dog dress in our jerseys to watch the game. I support all good causes on social media or otherwise, in a "Canadien" manner. My Christmas tree is "All Habbed Up". My tv room is a shrine to the Montreal Canadiens. I am a true #1 Hab's Fan!

How do you show your passion for the Canadiens through social media?

Every day I go on the Habs website and check who is the social media fan of the day and see if I’m one. It’s great to see how many big fans there are out there. I attached a picture of me with my Montreal cap gloves and jersey on, which I got for Christmas.
