Beginning on September 1, 2011, we will announce one Social Media Fan of the Day everyday on Twitter via @canadiensMTL, the official Twitter account of the Montreal Canadiens. The winner will receive a $10 gift certificate to any Habs Zone location and we’ll post his or her profile on canadiens.com. Oh, and don’t forget to tell your friends – it’s in your best interests!

How do you show your passion for the Canadiens through social media?

I’m a co-founder of the site Tricolore.ca along with Daniel Bigras and Régis Dubreuil. We represent the longest-existing community of Habs fans on the Internet having been around since 2003.

I’m personally responsible for the section “Canadiens’ History since 1909” on our web site. I’m the moderator of our discussion board and I try to keep fans up to date of all the latest Canadiens news on our Twitter page. The credibility we’ve built over the years has seen us cited for the info we put up on our cite by the like of 98,5 FM, TVA Sports and RDS.

As a historian, I try to offer as much little known trivia and facts about the team as I can. I first became passionate about the Canadiens in the mid-90s, so I can definitely say that I’ve been a long-time fan of the team, showing my passion for the Canadiens online since the Internet started.

I go see the Canadiens play every chance I get and we always take our kids skating every year. I get a lot of my news about the team through social media and I even have a personalized license plate to show how much I’m dedicated to the team.

How do you show your passion for the Canadiens through social media?

I’m always on Facebook, commenting and supporting the Canadiens every time they play, and I’ve also been following the team for a while now on Twitter too. I post pictures of myself on Facebook wearing the CH to help cheer on the team, and I always take pictures of myself when I’m at the games! I’m a huge Habs fan all around!

How do you show your passion for the Canadiens through social media?

I created a fan website for Canadiens goaltender Carey Price (http://www.CareyPrice31.net) that has been up and running for 3 years now. I also regularly post on Twitter under the handle @Carey31Price which keeps my over 2,500 followers up to date on the latest Price news! As a Canadiens fan living in the Toronto area it is tough fighting off the Leafs fans but I would do anything for the Bleu, Blanc, et Rouge!

I’ve been a die hard Canadiens fan for my entire life. I always make sure to throw a Go Habs Go! in every email I send, and try to make sure the Habs pop us in as many places as possible in my life, from my pics from Canadiens tailgate parties or playoff pictures! Whether with friends, family, at home, at the Cage, the Bell Centre, Scotia Bank Place or the TD Garden – it’s always GO HABS GO!!!

How do you show your passion for the Canadiens through social media?

I’m a true fan of the Canadiens. I watch every game, (while chatting online about them at the same time) and I’m on the waiting list to get season tickets. I read all news concerning the CH on my iPhone through Twitter and Facebook. I change my profile picture to something Habs related at the beginning of the playoffs every year and I’ve been taking part in the Canadiens official hockey pool. I also have Price and Subban jerseys that have been signed by a few players. Check out a picture of a pumpkin that I carved last Halloween! Go Habs Go!!!

I consider myself a world traveler, and everywhere I’ve gone I always make sure to bring my Habs shirt and get my picture taken in front of a famous landmark. I share all my pictures with my friends on Facebook. My favourite story was my trip to Australia. My fiancé and I took scuba diving lessons in the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. For our first dive together we placed our Habs t-shirts over our scuba gear and got some awesome photos diving with sea turtles and sharks. Our Scuba teacher called us the Habs couple for the rest of the trip.

Hi! My dad is one of the biggest Montreal fans I know. His grandfather influenced him at an early age and he's been a fan ever since. My dad is a fisherman from the south shore of Nova Scotia. He has his own boat with a custom paint job. It's a 48 foot "cape islander" painted cherry red with a large Montreal Canadiens emblem on the front with flags coming from both sides. In these flags are 24 little Stanley Cups. I’ve created an album of pictures of his boat and posted them to Facebook for all to enjoy.

How do you show your passion for the Canadiens through social media?

I have been a Habs fan since the day I was born in Montreal. If you know me you know that I live and breathe Habs everyday and always look forward to hockey season to cheer for my favourite team. I wear my Habs jersey with pride in the community although it might be considered "enemy territory". On Facebook I have a shrine to current and past players, like all fan pages pertaining to the Montreal Canadiens. I also subscribe to many player sites there as well. Since leaving Montreal as a kid I have always carried a little piece of the Habs in my heart and in my blood. I have countless articles of clothing from my favourite "13" jersey, socks, t-shirts, you name it I have it. On game nights it’s not uncommon to wear all my "gear" and cheer for the Canadiens!!! Go Habs Go!!

How do you show your passion for the Canadiens through social media?

I follow @CanadiensMTL on Twitter and receive their texts on my phone, to make sure to never miss anything. I follow many Habs pages on Facebook, for extra information. I attend a few regular season games a year and try to attend a playoff game as well.
I attached a picture of me, Carey Price, Josh Gorges & Travis Moen, who I met at a signing last season! Also, here’s a picture from game 7 that a friend and I attended, against the Penguins in 2010, when they played in Pittsburgh, but the arena was still fully here!
