Beginning on September 1, 2011, we will announce one Social Media Fan of the Day everyday on Twitter via @canadiensMTL, the official Twitter account of the Montreal Canadiens. The winner will receive a $10 gift certificate to any Habs Zone location and we’ll post his or her profile on canadiens.com. Oh, and don’t forget to tell your friends – it’s in your best interests!

How do you show your passion for the Canadiens through social media?

Everyone in my family is a huge fan of the Canadiens and my son now also has his whole room decorated in a Canadiens theme. When we took him to the Bell Centre, we got him a P.K. Subban t-shirt and took a picture of him wearing it next to the statue of Maurice Richard. Our whole family is always taking hockey or posting Habs themed pictures to Facebook and we all follow the team on both Facebook and Twitter.

In addition to having been a Canadiens fan my whole life, I've also embraced the Habs through Twitter.

Whether it's watching games on TV and tweeting my thoughts as the game goes on, attending games/autograph signings and tweeting about them, or even chatting with fellow Habs fans on Twitter (there's a LOT of them worldwide!!), I'm proud to bleed bleu-blanc-rouge online for all to see.

How do you show your passion for the Canadiens through social media?

I use my Facebook account to post pictures of myself that I’ve taken with some Canadiens players who have inspired me in life or that I find particularily exciting to watch play. I regularly update my status with Montreal Canadiens news and consider myself to be one of the team’s biggest fans.

I show my passion for the Habs through social media by posting pictures of myself watching games, like when I grew a playoff beard in the season that just passed. I also  tweet a lot during games, I post pictures when I’m in attendance to watch a game live and I take part in all the contests that are run on the Canadiens Facebook page.

Whatever I do in my life always has something to do with the Habs. I live breathe the bleu-blanc-rouge. I live on the west coast and sometimes feel like I am the only Habs fan here surrounded by an overwhelming and constantly growing Canucks Fan based. The one Canadiens game I have seen in person was when the Habs played in Vancouver and they got beat up 7-1. I dream of one day singing the “Ole” chant with the rest of 21,273 fans at the Bell Centre. The photo I’ve submitted is of me in the Dominican Republic during spring break. We went to a small flea market and I happened to be wearing a Habs shirt – I got tons of amazing deals because of it as well as a picture with the flag they hung up outside.

How do you show your passion for the Canadiens through social media?

My name is Johan Karlsson and I come from Sweden. I’m a very big Habs fan! I visit Canadiens.com many times every day looking for news and videos (thanks for the great site)! I also watch every game, every season, on TV or computer… even though the games start at 1 o'clock at night here (or later) in Sweden.

I save my money so I can go to Montreal and watch a couple of games every season. See you there! GO HABS GO!

How do you show your passion for the Canadiens through social media?

Everytime we take a trip or travel anywhere in the world, we always wear our Habs stuff and take pictures of ourselves that we post on Facebook later. We have everything “Habs” that we need, including beach towels, beer mugs, flags, socks, etc… When we had all of our stuff out on the beach people from China, the U.S. and Italy all asked to take pictures of us!

How do you show your passion for the Canadiens through social media?

I live in a suburb of Toronto so you can just imagine the number of… “compliments” I get when I drive around the streets with the Habs flag waving from my car. My car is actually even on Google Streetview sporting the flag! I’m a hockey coach at the Atom level, and I’ve enrolled my team into the Canadiens RAP program. My boys always practice wearing their Canadiens jerseys.

How do you show your passion for the Canadiens through social media?

Ever since the Canadiens were eliminated from the playoffs, I’ve continued to post on my Facebook page a countdown to the first preseason game of this year. My profile pictures often feature one or more Habs logos, whether it’s a picture of my room, or a shot of me wearing my Habs gear on vacation. I also keep a blog about the Habs during the regular season. On top of that, I also have a Canadiens tattoo. I can’t imagine that too many 20-year-old girls have one of those, and I’ve had mine for three years already! I spend the whole season constantly talking about hockey through social media, and I’m always ready to stick up for the players and the team. I really think that social media platforms is where you can always find the best conversation surrounding the team. During the 2009-10 playoff run, I climbed all 283 steps of St. Joseph’s Oratory on my knees when we were playing a Game 7... and we went 2 for 2 in those games!
